WHAT YOU GET FROM US

A DVD filmed in widescreen and edited with skill and creativity, with an appreciation of the arts of both dance and television production.  We try hard to ensure every performer features clearly in the DVD.  Single or multi camera depending on the size of the production.  All our DVDs have a chapter mark for each dance or song and come in a proper DVD case with full colour sleeve, individually designed using pictures from your show.

THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT FOR THE JOB

Filming dance - or any stage show - is our speciality, and we've been doing this for many years.  We use only Sony broadcast cameras filming in 16:9 widescreen - and, very importantly, we know how to use them.  Filming in theatres and halls is challenging because you have no control over the lighting and sometimes very little control over where you can film from.  But our long experience enables us to meet these challenges.

The DVD sound is every bit as important as the picture, so we have broadcast quality sound equipment with radio microphones and we work hard to get you a quality soundtrack.  Finally, tripods - we only use the rock solid type (costing thousands) as used by the TV companies to ensure your shots are smooth and steady.

OUR CHARGES

We make no attendance charge - all we charge for is the DVDs sold, so there is no cost to the school at all and we always give the school complimentary DVDs for teaching staff etc. The school may make a single order or we can provide order forms and distribute the DVDs by post.  Obviously we need to be confident of a reasonable minimum sale, starting at 25 copies depending on distance, number of cameras etc.  We charge around £15 a copy for a single camera shoot, slightly more for multi-camera.

ADVANCE PLANNING - THE KEY TO SUCCESS

We will always arrive in ample time to ensure we are set up before the audience come in.  In fact we will usually aim to visit the theatre to watch the show and look at the technical side of things before the actual show we are to film.  We will also talk through the filming with you.  And we will decide in advance how best to capture the sound, for example whether to get a live sound feed from the theatre sound desk, and whether microphones are needed near the stage to pick up dialogue or tap.  Where there are to be two cameras, the camera operators will decide on their approach in advance, and will usually have intercom headsets so they are in constant touch and TV monitors at their side so they can see BOTH pictures.

HOW LONG TILL THE DVDs ARE READY?

DVDs are often ready within a week of the show being filmed.  For multi-camera jobs it may be a little longer because of the exacting editing involved.  There is no time limit on ordering because we store the master disc - so people can order a DVD years later!
